Samsung Gear Fit was recently awarded as “The Best Mobile Device” by GSMA at the last day of Mobile World Congress 2014 in Barcelona.
The Gear Fit was launched together with Samsung Galaxy S5 and the Samsung GEAR 2 in Unpacked 5. The latter was made better in terms of battery life, among other things, which can last upto 3 days, 3 times better than its predecessor.
It now has a home button at the center bottom just like in smartphones and the Gear 2’s software development kit (SDK) is now released to the public so expect new applications from independent developers.
Similarly dust and water resistant, the Gear 2 straps are available in black, brown, and orange.
Samsung Gear Fit
Consider it as the Samsung Gear 2 for the health buffs. The built-in heart rate sensor wowed the crowd as it was announced in the reveal of Unpacked 5.
The Samsung GEAR FIT looks very much like a high-tech wristband and is lighter than the Gear 2 at 27 grams. I liked how it effectively blends style, fitness and convenience in one gear. It also keeps consumers up to date with instant notifications from Galaxy smartphones such as incoming calls, emails, SMS, alarm, S-planner, 3rd party apps while consumers are on the move.
Moreover, the Samsung Gear Fit is also the world’s first curved Super AMOLED gadget as a wearable device.
