Gadget Gambit recently got hold of one of Asus Philippines‘ newest ZenFone model – the ZenFone 2 Laser.
For our first impressions, we were not unfamiliar with the new smartphone since we have reviewed some Asus smartphones already including the 1st Asus ZenFone 2 model.
Asus ZenFone 2 Laser
The new ZenFone 2 Laser is a variant of the first ZenFone2 so it’s no surprise to have the overall body design of ZenFone smartphones including the concentric circle pattern at the lower part and the backside’s ergonomic arc design which offers a good grip of the phone.
At the back, it still has the rear key button just below the camera which serves as volume button and clicker for selfies, among others.
As for the screen size, it is available in 5.0 and 5.5 inches but we got the former. The super tough display employs a 720px1280p HD IPS display with wide-viewing angle upto 178 degreess and a durable Croning Gorilla Glass 4.
Internally, it will not disappoint in performance for regular daily users as it is powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon S410 cortex A53 quad-core processor 1.2 Ghz plus 2Gb of ddr RAM with 8/16GB internal storage expandable to 128GB of microSD card.
For the mobile photo enthusiasts, they have the 8MP rear camera with 5-element lens, dual color flash, and as the name suggests, the ZenFone 2 Laser comes with the laser autofocus technology.
The laser promises “fastest clarity” where the infrared laser measures distances at faster speed almost twice as fast from traditional contrast focus. This is good for mobile photographers on-the-go and when in low-light conditions. On the front side, the camera employs a 5MP wide angle with panorama selfie.
For those who wants to personalize their UI experience, the ZenFone2 Laser ZenUI is made better with 1000+ features in a simpler and more personalized experience. You should check out its ZenUI Launcher, Theme Store, and SnapView, among others.
