New Vivo V5 Plus Highlights ‘Bokeh’ with 20MP Dual Front Camera

Matching the grandeur of its Vivo V5 launch a few months ago, the Vivo V5 Plus launch yesterday further establishes that Vivo Philippines is serious in its venture into the Philippine smartphone market.

Vivo V5 Plus Features

Held at the Atrium of SM Mall of Asia, the official Philippine launch of the Vivo V5 Plus highlighted some of the best features of the smartphone such as the new and improved 20MP front camera now powered with dual lens for the ‘bokeh‘ effect. It’s the world’s first-ever dual front-facing cameras.

Bokeh‘ is a Japanese term for a camera photo effect where the background is blurred to give more focus and emphasis on the subject matter much similar to the capabilities of a DSLR. Moreover, the V5 Plus can actually manipulate and alternate the bokeh to blur the front subject matter and make the background ‘clear’ instead.  The primary front camera, a 20MP IMX376, was co-engineered with top electronics company, Sony, while the secondary 8-megapixel camera was designed to collect depth-of-field information for improved self-portrait quality.

Furthermore, in contrast to the Vivo V5, the ‘Plus‘ also has more battery life and increased memory at 64GB RAM.

To complete the package, the processor was also upgraded to 2GHz octa-core, 4G RAM, fingerprint recognition software, and a AK4376 Hi-Fi sound system.

Physically, it maintained a slim bezzle maintaining a 5.5 screen on a phone just as big as the usual 5.2″ smartphone units. The backside also took out the two straight lines similar to iPhone 7. It’s now cleaner and more simple.

Here are some photos we got from the launch yesterday.
