Department of Information and Communications Technology just recently unveiled three new projects to provide better services to citizens throughout the country.
First of these is the National Broadband Plan. It aims to establish broadband as a basic human right and to provide internet access in public areas such as schools, government buildings, public transportation, and more.

Second is the National Government Portal which provides access to all government data. The National Government Portal is a website for all government services and transactions for the public so no more waiting in lines in government offices anymore. The government portal can be accessed at www.gov.ph .
Lastly is the Free Wi-Fi service in public places. This aims to provide internet connectivity to people in public places.
There are 3 levels of connectivity.

Levels of Internet Access
- Level 1 access only requires the MAC address of the device.
- Level 2 access requires a Philippine government issued ID, or in case a foreigner is required a valid passport at any designation or registration authority. 2 factor authentication is considered for phone number or email registration. A username and password will be issued to the user then he/she can use the account on multiple devices.
- Level 3 access shall be where a user will be issued a Citizen’s Digital ID subject to the requirements of the National Public Key Infrastructure that will be used to gain access to the public service.
Moreover, the Department of Information and Communications Technology have already launched the project at EDSA and MRT stations last June 12,2017 Independence Day.
