Even before I got the review unit of the ZenFone Max Pro M1 form Asus Philippines, it has pretty much earned the reputation of being the “Battery King” in a lot of reviews I’ve read and heard from techie friends.
I’d just have to confirm it on my own and via my personal experience.
But before we go there, here is a rundown of the significant specs of the ZenFone Max Pro aside from the battery power it’s best known for recently.

ZenFone Max Pro M1 Review
I was not disappointed.
Having charged it from my first drain, I was able to charge it full 100% in less than 3hrs.
After which I used it as my main phone for 3 days surfing the net, Facebook-ing, checking my emails, watching Youtube, listening to Spotify with its own speakers, and using it as my morning alarm clock, among other things.
Wi-Fi is pretty much turned on for at least 12 hrs per day. So the 3 days is somewhat equal to 36 hours of WiFi doing a mix of all those aforementioned activities.
And as a social media professional running my own social media marketing agency Digital Circles, I can say that I am a heavy user of smartphones managing Facebook Pages of my clients and monitoring online outputs on social media by fellow bloggers and influencers we tap for campaigns.
On the side, I do some blogging chores for myself as well.
So in summary, the conclusion is a ‘Yes!’ – Gadget Gambit is joining the crowd who testifies that the Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 is indeed a Battery King!
Beyond the Battery
Alright, we’re hands-down on the battery which lasts more than 3 days on full use. But more than that, we also liked its big 6″ widescreen format with 18:9 size ration which again complements the needs of the gamer-target market (for my weak eyes, too) plus enough space even for the control buttons.
The duo combination of Snapdragon 636 Mobile Platform + powerful Adreno 509 GPU is also a timely development offering to address the necessary better responsive performance intended for gaming.
The 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM is a so-so for me. But hey, that is because I’m used to mid-range phones at the 10k–17k price tags. When you see the ZenFone Max Pro M1 Philippine price tag below, which is less than 10K, these specs are already very good for that price in today’s Philippine market!
Moreover, if you are mobile photography enthusiast, the 13MP + 5MP dual rear camera with bokeh and 13MP front camera are features that can be found on mobile phones above the 10K price range. Decent dual camera with soft-light LED flash on both sides for under 10k? Believe it.
The latest version of pure Android interface – Android 8.1 Oreo comes as a bonus.
A Bit of Recent Flashback
Prior to this review, the Max Pro M1 had its first appearance in the Philippines at the FragFest 2018, last June 9, 2018, just 2 days after the Asus smartphone’s official launch announcement. Spectators got to try the Max Pro first hand with ‘limitless’ gaming.
Aside from the pre-orders that started June 8, it had another round of pre-order from June 22-24 with freebies and a chance to win an international trip. This was further hyped when Asus Philippines teamed-up with Lazada Philippines for an exclusive online selling last June 25 which got sold out in about 2 hours after it started at 12nn.
Asus Philippines had to re-stock.
